The annual bonfire tradition at Springhead Park in Leeds took place this evening (5th November) which attracted 1000s of spectators.
Springhead Park is a council run bonfire with the help of Rothwell District Lions charity organisation. The bonfire was lit at 7pm with a countdown from 10 by the crowds before been lit by pyrotechnics.
Guy Fawkes is known for his part in the gunpowder plot of 1605 where he and his crew tried to blow up King James I of England at the houses of parliament, but were caught in the act.
