Members of the Arab Women Organization of Jordan held a protest near the Prime Ministry's building in Amman on Saturday.

The sit-in, entitled "Enough is Enough", was a protest against violence towards women and in solidarity with a woman whose husband gouged her eyes out in Jerash Governorate last week.

Participants in the protest urged tougher penalties for those who commit violence against women.

They also called for dialogue sessions with officials and members civil society organisations, to improve the legal situation of women in the country.
