On July 13, 2019 round 5pm strong storms moved through the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte Fire Department Ladder 24 responded to a car stuck in floodwaters with people trapped around 5:30pm. The incident happened at the intersection of Marvin Road & Johnston Road An SUV was traveling south onto Marvin Road from Johnston Road when the vehicle became stranded in floodwaters. Firefighters from CFD Ladder 24 rescued 1 to 2 occupants who were stranded in the vehicle. The water was so powerful it was creating powerful runoff off the sidewalk. Donnington Drive off Marvin Road was also underwater.
