Young inventor from Utah turns up the heat while testing homemade flamethrower

This was the moment a young inventor from Salem, Utah tested out his 3D printed homemade flamethrower.

Filmed on March 13, the hand-mounted device discharges a huge flame similar to what you would see in a superhero film.

The inventor himself explained online how he created the device: "Modelled it up in CAD a year or so ago and printed it out as soon as I got a printer big enough for the job.

"Plus I hacked up an arc lighter and re-wired it to make the spark.

"The fuel source is just a standard can of butane meant for refilling barbecue lighters."
