In underprivileged Coal and Shamokin Township in Pennsylvania, students are used to receiving a free breakfast and lunch, but now that the coronavirus outbreak has caused a statewide shutdown of everything including schools, hungry kids needed someone to step up to —and feed — the plate.

Ken runs Maurer's Dairy, a one-time bustling breakfast and lunch counter and now converted into a collection hub for donated food. Ken cooks the food for children as well as the elderly and shut-ins each morning at his own expense.

Anyone who needs a meal can show up to the restaurant and get scrambled eggs, pancakes and milk.

A community comes together to help feed the children during the corona virus emergency. Headed runs the Maurer’s Dairy who is the collection hub in Shamokin for donated food. Ken then cook the food for the children and the elderly and shut in each morning at his own expense.
Basically if anyone shows up at his restaurant they are provided with a hot take out meal consisting of scrambled eggs, pancake and milk.

Maurer’s Dairy is basically an ice-cream manufacturer and a small breakfast/lunch counter.

It should also be noted that Shamokin/Coal Township is listed as an underprivileged and depressed community allowing all students in the school district to recieve a free breakfast and lunch at school with some even receiving a free take home dinner from the district.
