Graffiti Highway is in the process of being covered in earth by the property owner.
It was decided that the eyesore must be removed for liability reasons as people were continuing to visit it during the coronavirus lock down.

Liability included, bonfire and injuries at the site, as well as increased vandalism in the borough of Centralia itself, led to the project, Guarna said.

This stretch of highway was abandoned due to the underground mine fire subsidence that made this stretch of road unstable.
The road was then turned back over to Pagnotti Enterprises (original owner) . According to Vincy Guarna Pagnotti then contracted with Fox Coal Company to cover the road with 400 truck loads of backfill. Guarna also stated that grass and trees will be planted when the project is compete.

State troopers from the Bloomsburg barracks and Ashland Police have been securing the site
