Residents of Lombok, Indonesia ignore calls for distance during Ramadhan
Efforts to prevent the spread of covid-19 by maintaining physical distance are ineffective during Ramadan. In the city of Mataram, Lombok, Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim, some residents gather without wearing masks, without keeping their distance, undergoing tarawih prayers in mosques even though the government has forbidden them.
The number of covid patients in Indonesia continues to grow. Until Monday 27 April 2020, the number of positive patients of COVID-19 in Indonesia reached 8,882. In West Nusa Tenggara there were 195 positive patients, this figure has exceeded the number of positive covid-19 patients in Bali which amounted to 186 people.
