The Bucyrus Erie 1150 is a preserved walking dragline, known locally as 'Oddball' which worked at the former Open Cast Coal Site (OCCS) which closed in 2004. St Aidan's is now a Nature Park owned by Leeds City Council & operated by the Royal Society For The Protection Of Birds (RSPB) The site is a place for visitors to enjoy exercise activities as well as watching wildlife on the 11km of footpaths and bridlepaths around the reserve.
