Time-lapse footage of a large walking dragline at a Leeds nature reserve with a soundtrack of bird song from St Aidan's.

RSPB St Aidan's is the final resting place of a giant excavator known as 'Oddball'
Oddball is a Ruston Bucyrus 1150BE walking dragline, that has been given a new lease of life
as a dragline museum, thanks to Richard Budge, the CEO of R.J.B Mining, after being handed
over to the St Aidan's Trust, which was set up around 1990 by the National Coal Board(NCB) &
Leeds City Council.

Preservation and maintenance of the historic mining machine are paid for by donations and funding
from National Lottery, the Science Museum Prism Fund, European Funding Agencies and other benefactors.
Open Days to allow the public to walk among and inside Oddball, are also held on a handful of dates
throughout the year, that help pay for the upkeep of the historic piece of coal mining machinery.

St Aidan's Country Park is a Nature Park owned by Leeds City Council & run by the Royal Society for
the Protection of Birds(RSPB) St Aidan's is a former Open Cast Coal Site(OCCS) that closed in 2004
after extracting the remaining 5 million tonnes of coal. Since then it has been transformed into
a beautiful place for the public to enjoy outdoor exercise along it's many kilometres of public footpaths,
and bridlepaths, as well as enjoy the wildlife that is in abundance around the site.

The footage was mainly recorded over a few days in May 2020
