After the lockdown curbs were eased partially in Chennai the headquarters of Tamilnadu South India, social distancing was not followed due to the inadequate space.

Lack of space and the poor infrastructure was blamed for not following the social distancing. The problem is graver in the resettlement colonies in the city where a lack of adequate space coupled with poor enforcement of social distancing keep the residents with no social space and with together.
As many as nearly a hundred gathered in a serpentine queue before a Public Distribution System (It is a shop where government sells the goods to the people in who are below poverty line for free in the pandemic and with very low cost during the normal days.)
There was no markings no guiding structures installed to ensure the social distance outside the shops. The same condition prevails outside a private bank too. All the countries around the world ensure social distancing as the first and the foremost even that is not followed here in India.
