A charismatic YouTuber from Concord, New Hampshire has disproved the theory that surgical masks can suffocate users - by running one kilometre in 100-degree heat while wearing 10 of them.

Footage shows Lee King Fawcette approach the camera smoking a cigarette and proclaiming, "It's come to my attention that some people think that this coronavirus is something to joke about." He then explains that young people are taking the virus seriously, while so-called Karens and Baby Boomers seem not to be.

Passionate Fawcette expresses his dismay, saying he's "fed up with it" and "using math, science and logic" he sets out to prove that face coverings "will not deprive you of oxygen."

Fawcette puts on the 10 masks and can be heard saying through the coverings: "As you can see I'm talking, I'm breathing, I'm doing everything you can do."

After this, he runs around a track, completing a kilometre in heat that reached 102 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fawcette told Newsflare that he "doesn’t care about the fortune or fame, he only cares about being right."
