A resident of Beirut filmed their experience of returning to their home after the blast that rocked the port and surrounding areas yesterday (August 4).

Footage from Jeitaoui - which is approximately 1.5 kilometers away from the port - shows resident Dara Foi'Elle as they returned to their flat to pick up essentials.

Foi'Elle is heard breathing heavily with a tone of panic and despair as glass crumbles and cracks beneath her feet.

In the video, the Foi'Elle's possessions are strewn across the floor as well as significant damage to the windows where large shards of glass were flung onto the bed.

They told Newsflare: "They say we were in the 2nd worst circle of destruction.

"My house is heavily damaged, especially the roof in the kitchen

"I will take shelter at friends, I went home now to clean and pack stuff."

"I feel empty."
