Coutrallam falls is located in Tenkasi District in South Indian state in Tamilnadu. The falls is located on the Western Ghats on the river Chittar. And the falls is considered as a “Medical spa” on account of the medical smell in the waters.
Due to the downpour and the torrential rains for the past 4 days in the water catchment areas of courtallam there has been a flooding in the falls.
There are totally 9 falls in the courtallam namely Peraruvi(Main Falls), Aintharuvi (Five falls), Shenbaghadevi Falls, Then Aruvi (Honey Falls), Chitraruvi, Puli Aruvi (Tiger Falls), Pazhaya Aruvi (Old Falls), Puthu Aruvi (New falls) and Pazhanthotta Aruvi (Fruit Garden falls) each of which is located in one kilometre radius. And all the nine falls are flooding now. The water is pouring beyond the area where tourist are allowed to take a shower it can be seen in the footage.

Saral Mazhai a drizzle festival is conducted every year in the months of July- August. But due to the pandemic and the flooding public are not allowed to visit the falls.
