The Animal Conservation Reserve Foundation (FAE) in Guatemala has continued working through the coronavirus pandemic towards the protection of wild animals in the Caribbean region of the Central American country.

From black panthers to the indigenous mammal, tapir, and crocodiles, the foundation and its personnel house care for animals that are in danger of extinction.

Footage from October 1 shows inside the foundation that continued to rescue and give veterinary medical treatment even during the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite social distancing, the use of masks, the downsizing of personnel, and government restrictions, like curfews and banned mobilizing between provinces, the foundation continued working round the clock.

The Animal Conservation Reserve Foundation in Guatemala in a Non-Government Organization (NGO) that works with wild animals, in their conservation and protection in the Caribbean region of the Central American country. From melanic jaguars (panthera onca) to tapirs (tapirus bairdii) to crocodiles (cocodrylus moreletti) to birds like parrots (ara militaris) and scarlet macaws (ara macao), this foundation and its personnel house and takes care of different kind of species of wildlife, specially the ones who are near-threatened or in danger of extinction. Even during the Coronavirus Pandemic (Covid-19), they continue too work in rescuing and giving veterinary medical treatment to the animals in their installations. Even though the pandemic brought social distancing, the use of masks, the rotation and downsizing of personnel and even shutdowns and government restrictions, like curfews and no mobilizing between provinces, the foundation keeps working non-stop. Right now, the number of cases for Covid-19 in Guatemala counts over 92 thousand positive cases, with three thousand 261 persons deceased to the virus. Daily, the average of positive cases is between 700 and 800, but the government has recently re-opened the country’s borders and airports, and resume the economical and social activities, and ended all restrictions.
