An engineer from Kingston Upon Hull created his own slide guitar out of an old longboard.

The clip filmed during the lockdown in September shows Ash Wainman playing his slide guitar at home.

"I began thinking more creatively about guitars and building my own. I had seen the fantastic Justin Johnson on his spade guitar, so decided to see if I could give him a run for his money!", said Wainman.

After putting together a guitar, Wainman says that this got the cogs turning, and he thought he would go on to transform a tennis racquet as well.

Wainman added: "Someone had joked about using other objects like a cricket bat or a skateboard and I thought - why not?!"

The idea developed into a longboard and had components that weren't in his original plan, but it turned out better than Wainman expected.

"It has such a raw sound which I was really happy with," said Wainman.

"Just need to learn to ride the longboard now!"
