Middle school students lift up T-shirts during dance routine causing controversy in China
A dance routine performed by middle school students in southern China caused controversy as it included them lifting up their T-shirts.
In the video, shot in the city of Guiyang in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on September 28, several girls lifting their tops up to show their bras when they were performing a dance at Yangshuo No.2 Middle School's sports meeting.
The video has caused controversy after it went viral on Chinese social media.
One netizen said: "It is inappropriate to do this on a school's sports meeting as they are all underage."
While another one said: "There is nothing wrong with the dancing movements. But underaged students dancing like that to expose their underwear in public was inappropriate."
However, some people thought it was not a big issue. One netizen said: "I think it is very normal."
The school principal said: "The students choreographed the dance themselves and their dancing movement range was not that big during the rehearsal. However, the school will check more strictly on the students' dancing movements in the future."
The video was provided by local media with permission.
