Protesters clashed with police after the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland ruled that abortion of a deformed foetus is unconstitutional.

The ruling led to protests across Poland on Thursday evening (October 23), including Warsaw, where demonstrations were held outside the home of Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Footage from Warsaw shows a stand-off between protesters and police, leading to several arrests. The first arrest is seen on video.

Protesters also chanted "Women's cause - a common cause."

People of Poland started a spontaneous protest after the Constitutional Court ruled that abortion for severe fetal defects was unconstitutional.
At 20:17 people entered the street and marched from the front of the Constitutional Tribunal to the PiS headquarters (ruling party). Passing by they chanted "Women's cause - a common cause". They also used harsh language on their posters and chants asking the Constitutional Court to leave. 15 people were detained, the first detention you can see on the video.
