Store owners in the "Nada" and "Sukkar" markets in Amman, Jordan, closed their shops on Monday (November 23) in protest against the newly introduced ban that prohibits them from placing stalls or displaying products in front of their stores.

The new law only allows store owners to display items at a distance of 30 centimeters or less outside their shops, which they describe as a "breach of their rights."

According to local media, business owners later reopened their stores after successful negotiations with officials at the Greater Amman Municipality.

Store owners will be able to display products in front of their stores in a way that does not hinder the movement of pedestrians.
