Nottingham's Christmas market closes for the rest of the year
Nottinghams winter wonderland christmas market confirmed it would remain shut this Christmas after 100s of people flocked to the attraction on the first day of it opening. The opening considered with the first Saturday after lockdown was lifted in England. Despite this Nottingham remains in tier 3 restrictions and the lack of social distancing forced the organisers and the council to close the market for good.
Police were also forced to break up a "party" which had started in the market square next to the christmas market. Crowds were seen dancing which music blared from two big speakers and a disco ball created a light show.
