Large queues of shoppers outside London supermarket days before Christmas in wake of Tier 4 restrictions
Shoppers were seen in their hundreds queuing to get into the South Woodford branch of Waitrose on December 21 in the wake of London and the south-east plunging into Tier 4 restrictions.
Footage shows an enormous line of people starting from the front of the supermarket going round to South Woodford high street.
The filmer said: "I guess last minute Christmas restriction changes, fears of food shortages, social distancing and just general Christmas shopping caused there to be an extremely long queue getting into Waitroses this afternoon."
"I ended up taking my business elsewhere; I was shocked."
