A strange end to a strange year. Came across this raging fire close to some banana trees on a quiet country road, at Pathumthani, Thailand on December 31st, 2020. The fire caught my attention because it was extremely intense, and there was nobody around to keep it in check. I t was just around sunset time when I came across it. I watched and video'ed it until it got dark (about 45 minutes). I was puzzled by how quiet it was, no very loud crackling sounds. I became more curious and moved closer to the fire to see what it was consuming. To my surprise there was very little material to burn there just a few leaves and twigs. Some locals passed by on a motorcycle, but they did not even notice the fire, it was of no concern to them. It seemed like there was some gas coming from the ground to fuel this fire. I never seen a fire quite like this one before. It was still boring as I left, but not so intense anymore.
