This amazing oval structure is situated at the grounds of an amazing Buddhist temple in Saraburi, called Wat Phra Phuttha Saeng Tham..
It features a giant stainless steel dome measuring about 50 meters in height and 90 meters in width, resembling an upside-down alms bowl or a spaceship. This dome is the most remarkable architectural feature of the temple, making it easily recognizable from the nearby highway. Inside the dome, there is a large Buddha image in the posture of giving the first sermon. The temple complex covers around 300 rai (approximately 48 hectares) and serves as a center for Buddhist practice and spreading Buddhism. The construction of this temple began around 2012 and is still ongoing, with many impressive buildings and decorations inside.
Its an awe inspiring sight and it was very hard for me to leave this place. Well worth a visit when in the Saraburi province area. This was my second visit to this place, and I hope to return again many times to marvel at this engineering feat.
