A small crowd of protesters, including those with the organisation Shutdown DC, demonstrated outside Senator Josh Hawley’s home in the town of Vienna, Virginia, on Monday evening (January 4).

Activists left a copy of the Constitution on his front step, along with a sign urging him to accept the results of the 2020 election.

According to local media, the Vienna Police Department said on Tuesday (January 5) that "people were peaceful," opposing Hawley who had alleged that protesters “vandalised” his door and threatened his family.

Police also said that the activists were not "that big of a deal."
