Demonstration during the bloodiest day in Yangon, Myanmar
This footage was filmed and produced 28 February 2021.
At least 18 people have been killed and dozens wounded on Sunday (February 28) across Myanmar in the most violent crackdown yet by security forces against peaceful demonstrators protesting against a February 1 military coup.
Police were out in force early and opened fire in different parts of Yangon after stun grenades, tear gas and shots in the air failed to break up crowds in Myanmar’s largest city. Soldiers also reinforced police.
Videos show protesters demonstrating and building hand made barricades on the roads in their related residential areas to prevent raids from soldiers and police. Soldiers and police forces got delay for their targeted destinations as they had to face protest and barricades in different parts of the city.
