Disabled raccoon in US gets second chance to walk again with specially designed wheelchair

A group of high school students in Glendale, California, have designed a special wheelchair for a raccoon suffering from cerebellar hypoplasia.

Footage from March 23 shows the disabled animal named Boone testing out its new device which enables it to walk once again.

Mary Key, the filmer, said: "Students of an engineering class at our local high school designed this wheelchair for Boone. Boone has cerebellar hypoplasia which inhibits his ability to walk."

She added: "This chair has made such a huge difference in Boone's life. The volunteers, visiting the Nolin River Wildlife, and I take turns with him on the wheelchair because he never runs out of energy!"
