A tornado warning was issued in Lubbock, Texas, as a swirling supercell passed over the city on ay 17.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I could tell that this supercell was different when I was out walking my dogs and when I got home I got a chair and stood on it in my back yard and started filming.

"I had to stop filming because the rotation was coming straight for me and was a very scary and dangerous situation so I had to get my dogs and I into a safe place and thankfully it passed over us without touching down or causing any damage."

This is one out of two time lapse videos that I shot in south west Lubbock, Texas on May 17th, 2021. I could tell that this supercell was different when I was out walking my dogs and when I got home I got a chair and stood on it in my back yard and started filming... In the first video you can see at the 7 second mark the funnel cloud come down and then went back up and came strait around us.. I had to stop filming because the rotation was coming strait for me and was a very scary and dangerous situation so I had to get my dogs and I into a safe place and thankfully it passed over us without touching down or causing any damage.
