'With the rat problem becoming more serious by the day, Emmet Furey decided that it was time to take the next step.

In this clip, the filmer showcases his innovative rat-tossing device, which he calls, "The Ratapult."

He wrote: "It's been 2 weeks since I began constructing the Ratapult. We had been waiting patiently to launch the rat over the wall for what seemed to be an eternity."

Emmet continued: "Finally, after some modifications to the access of the ratapult (construction of a Rat Ladder), it was time for launch."

He added: "This video depicts the first semi-successful launch of the original Ratapult. While I had calibrated the ratapult to be able to launch a medium-sized rat over the wall, I think this lad was on the larger size and didn't sit quite square enough, hence a slight misfire and him being launched into the shed. He did a good 720 spin though which was impressive."

The Ratapult's <100% success rate prompted Emmet to start working on the now-acclaimed, Ratapult 2!
