Recently, at the Jiumao Comprehensive Market in Longquanyi District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, a shopkeeper took a creative approach to selling rat glue traps by using two people dressed as rats for a live demonstration.

According to reports, the shop owner, Huang Wei, and his team started this unique live-streaming method in March. During the broadcasts, team members wear rat costumes and roll around on a giant glue trap, struggling to escape—mimicking the reactions of real rodents caught in the adhesive. The humorous and creative performance has drawn significant attention.

Huang Wei revealed that this unconventional marketing strategy has led to a huge boost in sales, with over 400 orders placed in a single day—around 20 times the usual amount. However, the success comes with challenges. Li Jun, who plays the “big rat,” strained his back from the constant struggling and had to apply pain relief patches. Despite this, the team remains committed to their performance-driven sales approach.
