Watch this memorising video of a skater creating a chalk drawing with their skates.

Imani Asami, 19, who uses the pronouns they/them, put chalk in their skates to join in on the popular Adult Swim TikTok trend.

The trend sees TikTok users creating videos in the style of commercials that appear on the Adult Swim network.

The commercials always show someone doing an activity and ends with an [AS] on the screen.

"What really inspired me is I've been a fan of Adult Swim since diapers,” said the musician from Atlanta, Georgia.

“I wasn't allowed to watch Adult Swim, but I still did it behind my parents back.”

Imani took the breaks out of their skates and replaced them with chalk, drawing and creating the [AS] as they skated.

It took them about two hours to create.

“It was honestly difficult because we didn't have any reference or tutorial videos on how to do it,” they said.

Imani's partner filmed the piece, providing encouragement throughout the process.

"At first we were just drawing with our hands and then they were like ‘you should put the chalk inside your skates,’” Imani said.

"I was like ‘do you think I could draw’ and they gave me a lot of support throughout the whole entire shoot, so I really owe it to them for pushing me to do it.”

Imani began skating in December 2020, feeling it was part of their lineage to pick up on the activity.

"I come from five generations of skaters, so I got a little bit of pressure to get on wheels,” they said.

“My partner who filmed the video is actually a skateboarder and has been skating their whole life and I've kind of always been into it.

"It was the best decision I could have made."

Imani’s favorite Adult Swim show is currently ‘Rick and Morty,’ but they are patiently awaiting the return of ‘The Boondocks.’
