A motorcyclist died after being involved in an accident with a car at Kilometer 19, Jalan Seremban-Tampin, near the Sepri junction, near here, at about 1.20pm this afternoon.

In the incident, the victim who worked as a cleaning company clerk was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics after suffering serious injuries.

Rembau District Police Chief, Acting Deputy Superintendent, Hazri Mohamad said the accident involved a Benelli motorcycle ridden by the victim and a Nissan Almera car driven by a woman in her 40s.

"Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of the car from the direction of Rembau was heading to Seremban. While turning right towards Sepri, the driver entered the path of a motorcyclist who came from the opposite direction, causing the victim not to be able to dodge and a collision occurred.

"The victim was thrown to the shoulder of the road on the right and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle received treatment as an outpatient in the green zone of Rembau Hospital after chest pain, "he said in a statement here today.

Hazri said the victim's body was sent to Rembau Hospital for autopsy and the case was investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
