A motorist was left in awe after witnessing a colossal tornado rip through a building in Sycamore, Illinois.

Storm chaser Kaylan Patel was able to catch this terrifying scene on camera, he said: "Here's footage of the tornado as it ripped through this building and Sycamore. Luckily, the residents are okay."

This footage was filmed on August 9.

'Sycamore, Illinois was recently hit by a wild tornado, and this clip shows the storm causing literal destruction.
