This footage was filmed and produced 21 September 2021.
The China Media Group (CMG) has geared up for staging the 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival gala in Xichang City of southwest China's Sichuan Province by creating panoramic stage with futuristic sense while orchestrating performances featuring aesthetic and romantic art styles. The main stage of this year's Mid-autumn Festival gala reproduced the Jianchang Ancient City which has a history of more than 600 years.
"A main idea of this year's design is the transformation from the ancient time to modern era. The theme of the stage design is the Big Dipper, which is the original idea for design the space of performance stages," said Xu Linjiang, director of stage design of CMG 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival gala producer team.
Actors who showed at the first record of the gala have been deeply impressed by the stage design which combines the ancient style and modern style decorated with water.
"When I arrived here, I was surprised by the design. It's so beautiful. There is water on both sides of the stage, and we can see the moon and the reflection of moon in water," said Mao Xiaotong, Chinese actress.
Another actor Zhong Zhentao said, "The stage design is great. You can see water surrounding a gate of the ancient city. Whenever I see this gate I feel Chinese characteristics."
