The murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 18-year-old who shot dead two Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020, is set to begin on Tuesday (November 2).

Rittenhouse faces five charges - first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Jury selection started at 9:30 a.m. for Kyle Rittenhouse 18, of Antioch, Illinois, has been charged with five felonies: first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon under the age of 18 and a non-criminal violation of failure to comply with an emergency order. He has pleaded not guilty. Over 175 jurors were summoned, Thirty-four have already been excused for personal reasons or can't be unbiased during the trial. Potential jurors were asked more questions in private with the judge, prosecutors, defense team, court reporter and two members of the media. Jury selection will continue Tuesday morning.
