Californian films giant wasp dragging slain TARANTULA to its nest
A walker in California has captured the remarkable moment a giant wasp dragged a huge tarantula back to its nest.
David Hamrich was walking in San Diego on October 11 when he spotted the tarantula hawk hauling away its prey.
Tarantula hawks use their powerful sting to paralyse the spiders before dragging them to a nest as living food.
They lay a single egg on the prey that hatches to a larva that eats the still-living arachnid.
Tarantula hawks are also known for having one of the most painful insect stings.
