This is the strange moment a man scaled a drawbridge as it lifted apart - before casually continuing his journey across.

For some unknown reason, the man decided to cross the Southwest First Street Bridge in Downtown Miami whilst it was being raised to allow through passing boats.

Video footage filmed from the nearby docks shows the man clinging onto the railing of the drawbridge as it is lifted apart.

According to onlookers he then remained there until the bridge lowered down again before casually continuing his journey across.

The man had already left before first responders had the chance to arrive.

Josh Dubin, 27, from Miami, Florida, who filmed the video, said: "I have no idea what he was doing - I don't think anyone did.

"It was most peculiar because when the bridge came together again he just walked across like nothing happened.

"Maybe he was drunk or on drugs but I guess we'll never know.
