Bristol “Kill the Bill” riot ringleader sentenced to 14 years in Jail

Bristol Crown Court, Bristol, UK. 17th December 2021. A man was sentenced to 14 years in prison today after being found guilty of five charges related to the Kill The Bill riots in Bristol earlier this year. At his trial, Ryan Roberts, 25, of Rawnsley House, Bristol, was found guilty of attempted arson with intent to endanger life; attempted arson being reckless as to whether life is endangered and arson being reckless as to whether life is endangered. Roberts was also unanimously found guilty of riot and guilty of arson being reckless as to whether life is endangered, concerning an allegation Roberts damaged by fire an unoccupied mobile police station van, by a majority of 10 to 2. During the Bristol protests on March 21 this year, Roberts played a 'leading role' and footage shows him holding a piece of burning cardboard under a police van.
