A TikTok star known for incorporating Yorkshire puddings into all sorts of treats has wowed the internet with his latest take - the Yorkie toastie.

Roland May, 43, a project manager from Buckinghamshire, shows his 307,000 followers on the site how to make unique and creative meals from British favourites.

Although some of his other creations receive mixed reactions, people can’t get enough of the dad-of-four’s toasted sandwich that substitutes bread for Yorkshire puddings.

To make the extravagant sandwich, Roland begins by filling a Yorkshire pudding with a dollop of mashed potato followed by four pigs in blankets.

He then puts a layer of Edam cheese over the top and repeats the process before sandwiching the two decadently filled Yorkshire puddings together.

The whole thing goes inside a sandwich maker for around three minutes and comes out a perfect golden-brown colour.

Roland then cuts the creation into two halves to reveal the gooey, indulgent filling. He serves it with a bowl of gravy for dunking and a single salad leaf in an attempt to make the extravagant toastie a balanced meal.

The video has racked up over 175,000 views and 10,400 likes so far and plenty of people in the comments have shared that they’re planning to recreate the Yorkie toastie themselves.

One person commented: “This has got my mouth watering mate. Defo gonna be making this one for the family.”

“I’d consider leaving my girlfriend for these bad boys,” someone else said.

Another user added: “Can’t beat pigs and blankets mate.”

Viewers who are used to Roland’s dishes focusing on taste rather than health were amused by the addition of a singular salad leaf.

Roland has also been getting followers in the Christmas spirit with another Yorkie toastie recipe that is filled with the fixings for a Christmas dinner, including stuffed turkey, vegetables and mash.
