A loyal pet dog guards its owner's motorcycle while he runs errands in Thailand.

The clever six-year-old pooch named Pepsi was seen sitting on the Honda Wave motorbike parked outside a bank in Nakhon Nayok province while waiting for his owner to return.

Onlookers who came to use the ATM admired the dog's discipline as it quietly sat for more than 20 minutes without climbing down the two-wheeler. Dog owner Boonying Rod-in, 70, said he had business to attend to at the bank, but he felt at ease since Pepsi was guarding his motorcycle.

He said: 'I've raised this dog since he was a small puppy. I named him Pepsi and trained him until he knows how to follow my commands.'

Boonying added that Pepsi loves travelling on the motorcycle, and would often snuggle up to him whenever he was starting up the vehicle. Footage shows how the intelligent mutt is used to riding the bike, hopping onto his owner's lap and settling comfortably between the handlebars.

Boonying said: 'I used to run errands and travel to Prachinburi province 60 kilometres away, and Pepsi would come with me. We share a bond and I can tell he loves me very much.'
