Storm chaser Sam Whitfield braved winds of over 80 mph upon the cliffs in Bude, Cornwall, as Storm Eunice struck the UK on February 18.

Whitfield's footage shows a man leaning forward at a 45-degree angle as the winds were strong enough to keep him up.

The storm chaser is heard saying: "We're probably experiencing winds of over 80 maybe even 90 mph."

Storm chaser Sam Whitfield, owner of UK Weather Chase, chasing Storm Eunice under a red and amber warning produced by the Metoffice. Chaos has disrupted many parts of the Southwest of the UK, causing lots of structural damage, trees down and big waves on the coast.

“Departing home Thursday evening we had been patrolling waiting for storm Eunice to hit. Giving us plenty of time to familiarize ourselves with the area we had several plans including emergency plans if we needed to abort. This storm is seriously dangerous, especially danger to life bringing winds hitting the 100mph mark.”

The Metoffice warnings say “Extremely strong winds develop over southwest England early on Friday, before spreading north and east during the day. Whilst there is still some uncertainty in the track of Eunice, there is an increasing likelihood of widespread inland wind gusts of 60-70 mph and up to 80 mph in a few places. Around coasts of west Wales and southwest England, gusts of 90 or possibly even 100 mph are possible. Winds are expected to ease across western areas through the afternoon, and eastern areas during the evening.”
