The town of Shrewsbury in the UK was hit by flooding today (February 22) after Storm Franklin caused the River Severn to burst its banks.

Footage captured by Owain Betts on Saint Julians Crescent showed several businesses and homes with water lapping at their front doors.

Storm Franklin has caused the banks of the River Severn to overflow with widespread flooding devastating businesses and homes throughout Shrewsbury in Shropshire. The devastation has struck large parts of the town with many properties under water after the river reached near record levels.
