Footy legends David Ginola and Ledley King lend support to group trekking between Premier League grounds
Volunteers have pledged to yomp from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London to Villa Park in Birmingham.
They hope to raise up to £5,000 for Eye Can, which supports people living with visual impairments.
Six people set off on Monday (4/4), with more joining along the way before they reach their destination on Saturday (9/4).
The starting team is made up of Andy Kent, 39, Onkarr Sandhu, 36, Nathan Richards, 36, Ranjit Chopra, 37, Mina Rattu, 43, and Josh Sandhu, 41.
“Now, supporters from two of my previous clubs are coming together to help support the cause, so I was really excited to meet them before they set off and wished them well.”
The charity was only registered last year but has since recruited 19 volunteers and supports 52 people with sight problems.
Josh said: “We started a community support group during lockdown and quickly realised there was a much higher need for help than we were anticipating."
