A video has emerged of a sewer ‘geyser’ after heavy rains in Philadelphia, US.

In the footage, captured by a local resident in Northern Liberties on Thursday, a huge spray of water can be seen repeatedly erupting from a manhole.

Writing online about the video, the filmer said: “Last night after a torrential 20 minutes of rain the streets around Front and West Allen flooded with sewer water and manhole covers exploded, flooding the street and some cars quickly. This video features a manhole cover that blew and the ensuing geyser that erupted from it.”
