Northumberland County 911 center received multiple call indicating a working house fire at 108 East Seventh Street in Mount Carmel. This call was upgraded to 2nd alarm status prior to first in units arriving.
Just before 7am a working fire was reported on east 7th in Mount Carmel. Several firefighters who were already at station due to a previous call this morning along with chief staff made a quick response and confirmed a working fire as they began to arrive.
While the call originally dispatched with possible entrapment everyone was able to make it out of the row with only one occupant sustaining a minor burn injury to his hand.
Mount Carmel’s Chief 3 credited a quick response of crews to keep most of the fire damage to the house of origin with each side connected sustaining smoke and water damage.
Pennsylvania state police fire marshals were on scene looking into the origin of the blaze.
A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal has been called to the scene.
