A petrol station on the outskirts of Canterbury in Kent was seen to be advertising both petrol and diesel at over £2 per litre this afternoon (July 7).

The sign board for the service station on a back road showed unleaded petrol priced at 209.9 pence per litre and diesel at 215.9 pence per litre - making it one of the most expensive forecourts in Kent.

UK household incomes are being strained by a cost of living crisis - with the price of fuel now a major outgoing for many.
