Giant waterspout sighted off the coast of Sauble Beach, Canada
Beach-goers watched in awe as a spectacular waterspout formed above one of north America's five Great Lakes. The huge twisting column of water was sucked from Lake Huron near Ontario, Canada. Footage filmed by local Jeremy Barber shows the weather phenomenon from the shore of Sauble Beach as spectators watched on. Witnesses said twister eventually made its way onto the land and carried on causing chaos. Waterspouts are formed when cold air moves across large bodies of warmer water, causing water to heat and rise from the surface.
