The time-lapse video filmed on August 31 shows how an arcus cloud - or shelf cloud - rolls over the Collserola mountain range, which separates the city from the Valles plain.

The footage was filmed by Projecte 4 Estacions (4 Seasons Project) - a non-profit organisation made up of meteorology enthusiasts.

Last week's storms across Spain's north-eastern Catalonia region have wreaked havoc, with a 20-month-old girl killed by a hailstone in La Bisbal d'Emporda in August 31 and a 13-year-old boy critically injured by a falling branch in Vilanova del Cami on September 1.

The adverse weather also damaged trees, cars and street furniture, disrupting train services.
