Thousands of people flock to the Mall and Buckingham Palace following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Fences and barriers line the Mall, while police direct crowds to follow a circuitous path to prevent overcrowding.

Periodically, roads and sections of Green Park and the Mall are shut down to prevent crowing in areas around the palace and the direction of pedestrian flow is reversed to keep people moving.

Despite the massive crowds, the mood is somber, well-behaved and courteous.
