Typhoon Muifa brought fierce winds and rain to Yaeyama Islands, including Ishigaki Island, in Okinawa as it moved northward on Monday, September 12.
Locally named Typhoon No. 12, Muifa forced the cancellation of All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines flights to and from the islands of Miyako and Ishigaki.
