Germany, Denmark and Poland have warned that the mysterious leaks on two Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2 in the Baltic Sea could not be accidental. Officials suggested that the damage could be a result of a sabotage operation led by Russia.

An investigation into the leaks is underway. Ukraine has also accused Russia of sabotaging the pipelines but the European Commission said that it is premature to speculate.

Before the leaks took place, seismologists recorded underwater explosions.

After there was a major pressure drop in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline on Monday danish autoroties reported a gas leak near the island of Bornholm.
The pipeline project was cancelled by the German government beacause of the russian war against Ukraine. On Monday night a sudden pressure drop in the pipline system Nord Stream 1 occured. It is speculated by the Geramn government that the pipelines might have been sabotaged using a submarine or comabat divers.
