Barges struggle and boats hit bottom due to the low water in the Mississippi River, which hit a record low yesterday (October 21) due to abnormal dry conditions. Experts consider this as the worst drought in at least a decade.

According to the National Weather Service, the river dropped to minus-10.75 feet this week.

As the river fell to record lows, boats are stuck in the mud and the supply chain is disrupted.

The footage was filmed in Memphis, southwest Tennessee, US.
